Women, bags, clothes too. And shoes too. And underwear, socks, cosmetics, perfumes, jewelry… everything is beautiful and charming. But bags have a special place in women’s hearts – so let’s sometimes focus on bag matters!
The ideology behind the selection of cases
My initial idea was to offer different, high quality and lovely bags to my lovely customers. When looking for suitable bags to sell in the store, I take into account the same criteria as for clothes: almost all bags are available only as individual pieces, all bags are made of high-quality leather and made in Mecca of leather products, Italy. Each bag is also completely Kiso approved, that is, I only sell bags that I myself would like to buy – that way I can be really enthusiastic about each of my bags to a customer who is looking for the perfect bag. When it comes to bags, it’s not nice that all my friends have the same things, so I usually only offer one piece of each bag from around the world.
I often get compliments on the fact that my store has bags that are completely different from what is offered on sale elsewhere – I invest a lot in this when I’m looking for perfect bags. Another thing that really makes my customers happy is their quite reasonable price level – you will hardly want to find real quality leather bags at this price anywhere else. This is possible thanks to the fact that all the products reach me directly from the manufacturers, thereby bypassing many intermediaries in the world.
The dilemma of the perfect bag
First of all, the size of the bag should reflect its intended use and also fit the wearer. If you always want to put certain things in your bag, you might want to take them with you when shopping for bags to make sure everything you need really fits neatly into your new beauty. I myself once called Finland from a bag store in Italy and asked to measure the size of my order log so that it would fit in my new bag – luckily it did, because it wouldn’t have worked! This bag was left behind, and luckily I found just the perfect case to replace it!
For daytime use, the bag usually needs to be bigger, and the size of the bag can shrink towards the evening; The party bag is the smallest and most graceful in size and always without a shoulder strap for evening dress events. It’s nice for a shopping trip when the bag can hold a variety of things, but there’s no reason to carry all your clothes with you for a night out, so the bag can also be more compact. The size of the bag should also be considered in relation to the size of its wearer: a bag that is too small can easily make a person look unnecessarily large, and a bag that is too big will also look a little funny – So the bag should be scaled to fit the dimensions of the wearer. It is also important to think about the way the bag is carried, so that the choice is successful in all respects. Sometimes a bag looks and features such that it has to be carried either on the arm or in the hand with the arm straight down. Most of us women have our own preferences regarding the way we carry it, and if you know that you won’t be carrying a bag on your arm, it might be a good idea to check how the bag in question looks when you carry it with your arm straight down. Sometimes the bag looks great on the arm, but when the arm is carried straight, it makes the proportions of the hand look unfavorable. So you should also choose the perfect bag with the carrying method in mind.
Some people like to always carry their bag on their shoulder. This does not fit naturally with the appearance of all bags, even if a removable shoulder strap could be attached to the bag. This is also worth thinking about when choosing a bag. If, on the other hand, there is a shoulder strap but it will be used very rarely, for example mainly when traveling, there is no need to pay too much attention to the appearance with a strap when buying a bag. If carrying on the shoulder is the closest way to you, you should choose a bag that is designed for this and therefore has suitably long shoulder straps. It is also good to note that in Finnish conditions, winter dressing significantly increases the length of the shoulder straps, so the bag can work great when walking in the summer heat, while carrying it on the shoulder in winter can be awkward.
Surface gloss?
Which surface material would be best? The purpose of the bag and the weather conditions in which the bag moves are perhaps the most important criteria here, and of course your own preferences. If the bag is carried around a lot and placed on various surfaces, where it is exposed to, for example, dirt and moisture, it can be good to choose surface or patent leather, which are quite easy to maintain. It is also reasonable to make sure that the bottom of the bag has small supports that lift it off the landing surface. In severe frost, the surface leather is more flexible than patent leather, and suede naturally also withstands frost well due to its softness.
In rainy weather, patent leather is a grateful material, and as the bag is made of patent leather, it gives the appearance an extra spark and elegance. Top leather is a classic choice for every need, while suede often brings out the color of the leather most strongly – sometimes suede also brings out the softness of the color in a very special way. Suede, on the other hand, is not a very convenient material on rainy days, because e.g. water and grease leave visible marks on unprotected suede. In particular, suede should be protected with a suitable protective product immediately before use and take care of the protection in the future. All types of leather have their own protective and conditioning agents, which should not be mixed together to avoid damage! When well cared for, leather is a really good and durable material, and it often only gets better over time.
Play with colors
What about the color? In short, you could say that black is black. A good and high-quality black leather bag classic should be in every woman’s selection – after that you can start wandering in one direction or another. A black bag goes a long way, it never leaves you in trouble. Instead, with the help of a colorful bag, it is easy and fun to update your look according to the situation, or to bring the trendy color of the season to your outfit in a clever way, without renewing almost anything else in your wardrobe. Often, colorful bags attract the customer into the boutique for a bag excursion, but a black bag ends up in the shopping cart. I think we women could loosen up and have a little fun when choosing accessories and choose colorful instead of basic black. In addition, we could dare to choose only one accent color without getting a bag AND shoes in, say, red. Ready-made sets are guaranteed, but also a bit boring. It’s more fun to shake off the conventions a bit and prefer a little more personality when dressing – accessories don’t have to be perfectly color straight! Besides, the outfit can be black, the bag red and the shoes even dark purple – as long as the colors are thought to match each other, such an ensemble can be extremely stylish!
The color also decisively changes the feel of the bag: the same bag in, say, white or bright fuchsia looks completely different. The warm tones invite you to spring, but they are also suitable for winter use!
Content matters?
The contents of the bag are also important – is the internal structure of the bag reasonable and practical? The more “sensible” use the bag is intended for, the more relevant this matter is. A duffel bag and a small evening bag can be a bit impractical – as long as the appearance is perfect – because it is used so much less often that even a little impracticality doesn’t bother me. Often, a large-sized bag should have a (zippered) middle pocket so that it is easy to find things even in a hurry. It would be good for all bags to have at least one additional zippered pocket where you can safely store, for example, a bunch of keys. The rule “more is more” applies here, at least in everyday bags. However, if the interior of the bag is divided into too many parts, it is good to note that at the same time the interior becomes narrower and individual larger items may no longer be able to fit into a comfortably sized bag. Here, too, you should think carefully about your own purposes when choosing a bag.
It’s also good to pay attention to the bag’s adaptability: a separate, removable shoulder strap – or in small bags also a wrist strap – is a nice addition to have in mind for versatility. The adjustable length of the shoulder strap is also sometimes important, and sometimes the size of the bag can also be adjusted as needed. At the same time, the appearance of the bag also changes in a fun way. Sometimes the bag can also have separate parts, such as a separate small bag inside a bigger bag, or the bag can even be divided into smaller parts.
Let’s go with passion!
After all these instructions and thoughts and limitations and reasonableness, it must be said: the bag is above all a matter of passion! It’s pointless to buy a bag if you don’t immediately feel attracted to it and fall in love with it. Because the world is full of delicious bags, everyone can surely find the case they intend to be a smart bag through a little infatuation. Aesthetics is a very important part of at least the undersigned’s world, so it’s pointless to stick to something that you’ll carry with you even for years just for reasons of reason.
